It is with unbearable grief that we announce the passing of a life cut way too short. Joanne died peacefully in her home surrounded by all she loved at the age of 51. She leaves behind her husband Jerry, son Russell and daughter Ingrid, and adoring grandson Lance Biamonte Jr., all of Niagara Falls Ontario. She is also survived by her loving parents Mario and Barbara Fonzi, sisters Susan Fonzi (Stewart Selover), and Marla Modica and her brother Mario Fonzi (Beverly) and her nephews Ryan and Vincent Modica and her niece Ally Modica all of North Tonawanda New York. Joanne also leaves behind her Mother in law Elvira VanKleef, her brother in law Peter VanKleef (Gwen) and nephews Paul and Philip VanKleef (Rhonda-) and dear friend of Heather Matte, all on Niagara Falls Ontario. After graduating North Tonawanda High in 1979 Joanne severed 2 years with distinction in the United States Army. Upon finishing her tour of duty in Germany, Joanne went on to earn a BA with a major in Language from Kansas State University; from there she graduated with her Masters of Education and Masters of Business Administration from State University of New York at Buffalo. Along with these accomplishments Joanne was also a classically trained pianist and lover of languages, not only teaching herself to speak Spanish and German but also to read and write both fluently. Joanne's love of words was evident to all those fortunate to have conversed with her. Her subject matters knew no bounds. This was to be a huge asset over the past twenty years as she greeted and welcomed the world at her door running the Eastwood tourist lodge Bed & Breakfast. Joanne also served on the Board of Aids Niagara, and was also a new inductee into The Rotary Club of Niagara. Resting at the funeral chapel of HETHERINGTON AND DEANS, 5176 Victoria Ave., Niagara Falls where the family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9.
